Heavy-Duty Wood Chippers - Powerful Cutting and Precision Performance
High-Performance Cutting Systems
All Remet disc chippers are built around heavy-duty steel cutting discs ranging from 620mm (24.4") to 720mm (28.3") in diameter. These act as flywheels to provide consistent torque under load, delivering smooth and efficient chipping even with hardwoods.
- 4 abrasion-resistant steel knives + 1 adjustable anvil counter-blade
- Chip sizes controlled by adjustment or hydraulic feed speed
- Designed for uniform chip output – ideal for biomass, mulch, bedding, or decorative use
Models for Every Power Source
Remet offers both PTO-driven and gas engine-powered chippers to suit a wide range of operators:
- PTO Models (RT-630, RT-630R, RT-660R, RT-690R, RT-720R). Compatible with tractors from 15hp to 80hp, with options for hydraulic feed on select models.
- Gas-Powered Model (RTS-630). Self-contained unit powered by a 15hp 4-stroke OHV engine — perfect for ATVs, UTVs, or garden tractors with trailer towing.

Disc Chipper FAQs
What are your processing and shipping times for your disc chippers?
Due to their size, please allow 3–4 full business days for us to crate and prepare your disc chipper for shipment. Orders typically ship LTL by common carrier, which takes 2–7 business days depending on the destination. In some cases, Northern Woodsmen provides regional delivery services throughout the Upper Midwest. Customers are also welcome to pick up orders directly. We do our best to meet customer requirements for delivery scheduling.
What types of material can these wood chippers handle?
Our disc chippers are highly versatile. They can process fresh and dry hardwoods, softwoods, orchard cuttings, sawmill waste, and pruning residues from orchards or vineyards. This makes them a valuable piece of agricultural equipment for both forestry and farm-based applications.
What power sources are available?
Remet offers PTO-driven chippers that work with tractors from 15hp to 80hp, which are ideal for agricultural activities where tractors are already in use. We also supply a self-contained gas-powered model (RTS-630) with a 15-hp OHV engine. This model is ideal for ATVs, UTVs, or garden tractors.
How safe are Remet disc chippers?
Safety is built into every model. Features include emergency stop systems on hydraulic feed models, safety guards and protective shields to prevent accidental contact, and full compliance with EU safety standards.
Are they suitable for agricultural and home use?
Absolutely. Remet disc chippers are versatile enough for agricultural farm use while remaining practical for large-scale personal use.
Which models include hydraulic feed?
The RT-630R, RT-660R, RT-690R, and RT-720R feature an adjustable hydraulic feed system, which improves chip size control, efficiency, and operator safety.
Are these machines easy to maintain?
Yes, most models feature a quick-access cover to ensure easy knife inspection and maintenance.
Which is better, manual or hydraulic disc chippers?
For regular use, larger volumes, or professional jobs, hydraulic feed models save time, reduce strain, and deliver more consistent results. If you only chip occasionally or handle smaller volumes of wood, a manual feed chipper is often sufficient.
Is a hydraulic feed disc chipper worth the extra cost?
While hydraulic feed models initially cost more, they can quickly pay off in efficiency and ease of use. The powered rollers save time and reduce the physical effort of feeding material manually, meaning less operator fatigue and improved productivity. Hydraulic feed also improves safety by keeping hands further from the cutting system and helps produce more consistent chip sizes.
What is the chipping capacity and production rate?
Depending on the model and material, Remet disc chippers handle wood up to 6.7" (17cm) in diameter. Their strong cutting systems provide excellent chipping production rates, ensuring consistent chip quality for mulch, composting, or fuel purposes. They’re especially valuable when producing uniform fuel chips or processing large volumes of wood for fuel purposes.
