 PRO TIPS: 

The best approach to installing a grinding wheel, regardless of the size, is to perform a ring test on the grinding wheel prior to installing it, even if the grinding wheel has been previously used. To perform the ring test hold the grinding wheel through the arbor hole with an Allen wrench and tap on the grinding wheel with another Allen wrench. If the grinding wheel rings like a bell it is in good shape. If it does not ring like a bell, but rather you get a dull thud, the grinding wheel is cracked and should not be used. 

Make sure the wheel is centered on the blade hub before clamping it down.  Care should be taken to not drop the wheel and to store it in a safe place when not in use as this may result in chips/breakage.
